Watts, born 28 September 1968 is a British actress from Britain. Her family
relocated to Australia She made her debut in film with the drama For Love Alone
(1986) after which she appeared in three television series, Hey Dad.. (1990),
Brides of Christ (1991) as well as Home and Away (1991) as well as in the movie
Flirting (1991). Watts made the move to America in 2000. Her first experience
was a struggle as an actor. In fact she only managed to take small roles in films
prior to becoming an actress of the future in David Lynch's Mulholland Drive
psychological thriller. Her fame grew internationally by playing the part.
Watts played the part of the journalist who is depressed in The Ring, a horror
film remake. She was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress for her
performance as a grief-stricken mother in Alejandro film 21 Grams (2003). Her
profile continued to grow by playing starring roles in I Heart Huckabees
(2004), King Kong (2005), Eastern Promises (2007) and The International (2009).
Watts received nominations for an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role
in The Impossible (2012) as Maria Bennett. In the 2010s, Watts appeared in
films such as Birdman (2014) St. Vincent (2014) St. Vincent (2015), While We're
Young (2016), The Glass Castle (2017) and Luce (2018). Watts was also a
prominent character in blockbuster films, starring in Divergent (2015)-2016.
