   Heelan was born in Andover (Massachusetts) to Kimball Heelan, actress and Lowell Public Schools teacher, and Kevin Heelan playwright. Conor is her older brother. His father is a professional dramatist who has been an instructor at the Phillips Andover Academy teacher since 1983. Heelan was a student at the Walnut Hill School for the Arts, and then spent an entire year at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. Heelan moved to the University of Southern California. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2009. When she graduated, Heelan received the James B. Pendleton Award for outstanding contribution to the USC School of Dramatic Arts.   Amy Poehler, born September 16, 1971 was an American actress, comedian, and writer. After studying improv at Chicago's Second City and Improv Olympic in the early 1990s, Poehler co-founded the improvisational-comedy troupe Upright Citizens Brigade. The group moved to New York City in 1996 where their act became a half-hour sketch-comedy series on Comedy Central in 1998. Poehler was the first member of the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre.
