Rita Ora Bio
Rita Ora is a British singer-songwriter. Rita Sahatciu Ora was born in 1990 in Pristina (Kosovo) to Vera (Bajraktari), and Besnik Sahatciu. She is the granddaughter of director Besim Sahatciu. When she was just one, her family took the decision to relocate to England. She was raised in West London. She attended St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School in Earls Court. After that she graduated from Sylvia Young Theatre School followed by St Charles Catholic Sixth Form College. She sang from an early age. In 2004, she appeared on the British film Spivs. She auditioned for Eurovision: Your Country requires You on BBC One to be the British contestant for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest however, she later pulled out of the contest after a few shows because she didn't feel prepared. Ora's first music release was in 2007, when she was featured in Craig David's track "Awkward" and then in 2008 with "Where is Your Love" with Tinchy Stryder. Also, she appears in the music videos. Ora started singing in bars around London and then in 2009 an A&R rep told Roc Nation about Ora, a few days after Ora took a flight to New York and met Jay-Z. In 2009, Ora made a cameo on Jay-Z's video for "Young Forever" and "Over" by Drake. Jay-Z was awestruck by Ora and quickly signed her up to Roc Nation. She was featured in a commercial featuring Skullcandy Aviator Headphones. Her father Besnik was a pub owner and she began her singing career from the same pub. The singer cites Gwen Stefani as a major influence in the way she conducts herself and No Doubt's "Don't Speak" (1996) as one of her most cherished songs.Her video from 2016 for Tezenis, The Silk Code, is the title of the novel that was awarded the Locus Award for Best First Science Fiction Novel in 1999.She was thought of to play Iris West in Justice League (2017) before Kiersey Cymons was cast.
